Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching or rubbing the skin unnecessarily.
Do not apply makeup, sunscreen, or skincare products unless recommended by your provider.
Use only lukewarm water to cleanse the skin and gently pat dry with a clean towel. Avoid scrubbing.
Mild redness, warmth, and slight swelling are normal and should subside within a few hours.
Avoid heat exposure, including hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and vigorous exercise.
Cooling the skin post-treatment can help reduce discomfort and excessive skin response.
First 48 Hours
Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer as directed to keep the skin hydrated and aid recovery.
Use only mild, non-irritating skincare products and avoid retinoids, exfoliants, or active ingredients until advised by your provider.
Drink plenty of water to support the skin’s natural healing process.
Continue avoiding excessive sun exposure, and wear a hat when outdoors.
Avoid applying any product that would not be suitable for an open wound. If possible, do not apply any products for the first 12-24 hours. The treatment creates open channels in the skin, which can inadvertently serve as an entry point for certain ingredients, leading to allergic reactions, prolonged healing, swelling, and granulomas. Ensure that any products applied to the treated area are specifically recommended for post-treatment use.
First Week
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+), preferably one with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, to protect treated areas from sun damage.
Do not pick, peel, or exfoliate the skin, as it may lead to irritation or sensitivity.
Continue avoiding aggressive skincare treatments, including chemical peels, laser treatments, and facials, unless approved by your provider.
Once the skin has healed (typically within 1-3 days), you may begin using makeup, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
Downtime is minimal, typically ranging from 1-5 days, depending on the intensity of the treatment. Some patients may not show any surface-level skin response while still achieving significant long-term results.
What to Expect Over Time
Days 3-5: Skin may appear brighter, smoother, and more hydrated.
Week 1: Collagen production begins, leading to gradual skin tightening and improved texture.
Weeks 2-4: Optimal results become more visible as the skin continues to regenerate.
Most patients require multiple sessions (1-4) spaced 3-6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments as needed.
