What To Do After Your Vasculaze Appointments

First 24 Hours

  • Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching or scratching the skin.
  • Avoid applying makeup, lotion, or skincare products unless recommended by your provider.
  • Use only lukewarm water to cleanse the area, gently patting it dry with a clean towel. Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating.
  • Expect mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity in the treated area. These effects typically subside within 24-48 hours.
  • Do not expose the treated area to heat, including hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or strenuous exercise.

First 48-72 Hours

  • Continue avoiding direct sun exposure and wear a wide-brimmed hat or protective clothing if going outside.
  • Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturizer to soothe and protect the skin as needed.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol and caffeine intake, as they can contribute to increased redness and swelling.
  • Do not pick or scratch the treated area, as this may cause irritation or scarring.

First Week

  • Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) daily with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, reapplying as needed. Sun exposure can lead to hyperpigmentation.
  • Mild bruising, redness, or darkening of treated veins is normal as they begin to break down and fade.
  • Avoid harsh skincare treatments, including exfoliation, chemical peels, or laser treatments, until cleared by your provider.
  • Stay hydrated and follow a healthy diet to support skin recovery.

What to Expect Over Time

  • Days 3-5: The treated veins may darken or scab as the body works to break them down.
  • Week 1: Visible improvements may begin, but full results take time.
  • Weeks 2-4: The treated veins continue to fade, and the skin appears more even-toned.
  • Multiple treatments may be necessary for optimal results, depending on the severity of the vascular concerns.
