What To Do Before Your PDO Thread Appointment

48 Hours Before Treatment

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®), naproxen (Aleve®), fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic, and ginger.
  • Limit alcohol and caffeine consumption, as they can contribute to bruising and dehydration.
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking, and excessive salt intake, as these can contribute to swelling and delay healing.
  • Refrain from strenuous exercise or activities that increase blood circulation, as this may lead to increased bruising.
  • Avoid NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or naproxen), unless directed by your doctor. Tylenol® (acetaminophen) may be taken if needed.
  • Stay out of direct sun exposure and avoid tanning beds to prevent unnecessary skin irritation before the procedure.

Day of Treatment

  • Arrive with clean skin—do not wear makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or any skincare products.
  • Wear comfortable clothing to avoid irritation around the treatment area.
  • Eat a light meal before your appointment to prevent lightheadedness.
  • Avoid excessive facial movements and refrain from chewing gum.
  • Inform your provider of any new medications, recent infections, or health changes, as these may affect your eligibility for treatment.

Following these pre-treatment guidelines will help ensure a smooth procedure and optimal results. If you have any questions, contact Azure Dream MedSpa before your appointment.
