Botox & Wrinkle Relaxers: What to Know Before & After Treatment

  • Before Your Appointment

    • If it's your first Botox appointment at Azure Dream MedSpa, arrive early for your consultation and paperwork.
    • Avoid alcohol, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatory medications 24–48 hours prior to treatment to minimize bruising.

  • During Your Appointment

    • Your injector will discuss your specific needs and treatment goals to make sure Botox or other wrinkle relaxers are right for you.
    • If you and your injector decide that Botox is the right treatment for you they will map out your face administer injections.

  • After Your Appointment

    • Avoid touching or massaging treated areas for at least 24 hours.
    • Skip intense workouts, saunas, and facials for 24 hours after your appointment.
    • Stay upright for four hours post-treatment to prevent Botox from migrating.

  • Your Next Appointment

    • You will be scheduled for a follow up appointment 2 to 4 weeks after your injection to track progress and make any necessary adjustments.
    • Most patients return for Botox every 3 to 4 months.
    • Your injector will suggest the best schedule based on your face and goals.

Common Questions About Botox

How long does Botox last?

Results typically last between 3 to 4 months. As muscle activity gradually returns, lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. Regular maintenance helps extend the smooth results.

What areas can I treat?

Botox and other wrinkle relaxes can treat areas such as:

  • Crow's feet: The lines that appear at the corners of the eyes when you smile, squint, or frown 
  • Frown lines: The vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows 
  • Forehead lines: The horizontal lines that appear on the forehead 
  • Bunny lines: The creases that appear on the nose when you sniff or smell something 

How much is Botox​?

Pricing is based on the product used (Botox or Daxxify) and the number of units used.

Our current pricing is:

  • Botox - $16/ Unit
  • Daxxify - $13/ Unit

20-30 units is typically required for each area (crow's feet, bunny lines, forehead lines, etc).

More units are often needed to treat more specialized areas, such as the masseter muscles and areas that are being treated for hyperhidrosis.

Can you work out after Botox?

We recommend avoiding exercise for at least 24 hours after treatment to allow the product to settle properly and avoid migration.

How long does Botox last​?

Results typically last between 3 to 6 months, depending on individual factors, such as the area treated, the type of botulinum toxin used, and your body’s response to the treatment.

We recommend coming in quarterly to maintain results.

How long does Botox take to work?

Botox typically starts working within 3 to 5 days, with full results visible at around 10 to 14 days. Be patient—the transformation is worth the wait.

How many units of Botox for forehead?

The average treatment for the forehead area typically requires between 10 to 30 units, depending on muscle strength and individual goals. A professional evaluation is the best way to determine your personal needs.
