Frequently Asked Questions About Dermal Fillers

Does dermal filler hurt?

You may feel a mild pinch, but most fillers include lidocaine to minimize discomfort. We also offer nitrous oxide, commonly known as "laughing gas", if you're feeling particularly nervous.

How much is dermal filler?

The total cost depends on the area treated and the amount needed to achieve your goals. We offer flexible payment options to make treatments more accessible for clients in Arlington, DC, and Pentagon City.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?

Yes. When performed by trained professionals, dermal fillers are very safe. Azure Dream MedSpa uses only trusted brands and techniques to reduce the risk of side effects. All treatments are done in a controlled, medical-grade environment.

Can I go back to work after filler?

Yes. There’s little to no downtime. Mild swelling, redness, or bruising can occur but usually fades quickly.

Who is a good candidate for dermal fillers?

Adults looking to smooth wrinkles or restore facial volume are ideal candidates. A consultation will help determine what’s best for your goals.

Does dermal filler dissolve?

Yes, most dermal fillers—especially hyaluronic acid-based ones—can dissolve over time or be reversed.
Your body naturally breaks down the filler over 6 to 18 months depending on the product and area treated. If needed, a qualified provider can use an enzyme called hyaluronidase to dissolve HA fillers safely and quickly. This makes treatments flexible and low-risk.

What is the difference between filler and botox?

Botox and other wrinkle relaxers are neurotoxins that relax facial muscles to stop wrinkles caused by movement, while dermal fillers add physical volume under the skin to plump and fill in lines or hollow areas.

What is the difference between filler and biostimulator?

Traditional dermal fillers provide immediate volume and contouring, whereas biostimulators trigger your body's natural collagen production over several months for gradual structural support. Depending on the result you're looking for and the area being treated, your provider may recommend a biostimulator treatment, or even a combination of biostimulator and dermal filler.

What brand of filler do you use?

We use the RHA Collections, Juvederm, Restalyane, and Belotero. The type of filler used during your treatment depends on the area being treated and the desired result.
