What to Do Before and After PDO Thread Appointment
What To Do Before Your PDO Thread Appointment
48 Hours Before Treatment
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil®, Motrin®), naproxen (Aleve®), fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic, and ginger.
- Limit alcohol and caffeine consumption, as they can contribute to bruising and dehydration.
- Avoid alcohol, smoking, and excessive salt intake, as these can contribute to swelling and delay healing.
- Refrain from strenuous exercise or activities that increase blood circulation, as this may lead to increased bruising.
- Avoid NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or naproxen), unless directed by your doctor. Tylenol® (acetaminophen) may be taken if needed.
- Stay out of direct sun exposure and avoid tanning beds to prevent unnecessary skin irritation before the procedure.

- Eat a light meal before your appointment to prevent lightheadedness.
